When will I receive CarGuard, and how should I use
it?
You will receive CarGuard usually within 30 days of receipt of your
contract. If you purchased your warranty over 45 days ago and have not
received CarGuard, please contact your selling dealer to verify that they
have forwarded your warranty to us.
How often do I need to have my oil changed?
Every 4 months or 4000 miles, which ever comes first.
(Receipts will need to be produced in event of claim)
Can I change the oil in my car and still be covered?
No. Your vehicle's motor oil has to be changed at a commercial facility with verifiable receipts. Hand written receipts will not be accepted.
Can I be reimbursed for completed repairs?
Only if prior authorization by CarGuard has been given before repairs have begun.
What does the Warranty Cover?
The following benefits are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, anywhere in the United States and Canada:
- Towing
- Jump starts
- Flat Tire Changes- utilizing your vehicle's inflated spare
- Lockout Service: cost of key cutting/replacement is not covered
and must be paid by you when service is rendered
- Concierge Service- includes courtesy assistance and emergency
phone call support to relatives, police, etc.

What should I do if I have a claim?
Call 1 888-587-0100 for assistance. You will be asked to take your vehicle to an ASE Certified shop or technician for preliminary inspection. Do not authorize disassembly of any component before the repair facility or technician has contacted CarGuard.
Will CarGuard cover the cost of my rental vehicle?
CarGuard will reimburse you up to $100.00 for rental car expense on an authorized covered repair.
Can I transfer my warranty?
Yes. Transfers are decided on a case by case basis, after reviewing maintenance records and other pertinent information.
